| Types of Predictions |
There are 2 types of predictions which you can play on LordsOfOdds.
- Outcome Predictions
These are statements specifying a certain outcome of a future event. The value of the prediction can vary between an upper limit (mostly 100) and lower limit (mostly 0) as players buy and sell it. If the statement comes true , then each unit of that statement will be worth the upper limit and if it does not come true, it will be worth the lower limit.
e.g. "Arsenal will win the Barclays Premeir League in 2008". Now this prediction is like a stock. If the prediction comes true, each unit of this stock will be worth 100 else it will be worth 0.
- Value Predictions
These can be seen as stocks who final value is tied to some future number.
e.g. "Number of runs scored by India in a certain match". So, if India scores 250 in that match, the value of this prediction will be equal to 250.
Sometimes, if the underlying number on which the value of the prediction is based is too small, then we scale it by some factor.
e.g. "50 x Number of goals scored in Arsenal vs Manchester United". So, if the final score of this match is 2-2, then the final value of this prediciton will be worth 200 (i.e. 50 x 4 goals).
